Reducing consumption of “new things” by repairing your old item, sharing with friends or neighbours, renting or buying second hand reduces both carbon footprint and consumption of finite resources.

Closest to home the Ashwell Hub https://www.facebook.com/groups/620174748059871/ is a great way to freecycle your unwanted but serviceable goods
Recycle Our Electricals www.recycleyourelectricals.org.uk gives some useful information and has a locator at least nominally for locations for recycling repair or donation of a wide range of electrical goods. Unfortunately, the locator only seems to work for recycling
“Skip diving” – with the home owners permission – remember what’s in there is still their property – its surprising what can be recovered for reuse.
The Ashwell Yearbook home (ashwell.gov.uk) contains adverts from local suppliers – keep an eye out each year for the next edition.
